Payment Gateways

Learn how to set up and manage payment gateways in Tabletail.

Payment gateways in Tabletail help you manage how customers pay for their orders — whether that’s cash, card, or (soon) online payments.

You can configure and manage payment gateways by navigating to
Management → Spot Settings → Payments.

From there, you can create a new gateway or manage existing ones.


Offline Payment Gateways

Offline gateways represent in-person payments, such as cash or card transactions.

When completing a dining session from the Orders Dashboard, you’ll be asked to select a configured payment gateway.
For example:

  • 💵 Cash Payment — when the customer pays by cash
  • 💳 Card Payment — when payment is handled via a physical terminal

These gateways are especially useful for reporting and analytics, allowing you to track how many of your customers pay via each method.


Online Payment Gateways — Coming Soon

Online payment gateways are currently under development.
Once available, your guests will be able to pay directly from their table using the “Pay Now” button on their digital menu.

We plan to support leading payment providers such as:

  • Stripe
  • Braintree
  • PayPal
  • EveryPay

When launched, you’ll be able to connect Tabletail with your chosen provider, allowing instant payment deposits directly to your connected merchant account (e.g., Stripe or Braintree).


Is a Payment Gateway Required?

No — at the current stage, payment gateways are optional.
Offline gateways mainly enhance reporting and analytics.

Once online payments launch, configuring a gateway will become essential for seamless guest billing and hands-free checkouts.
